Yolanda Charrissee Crochrell has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who in America 2023-2024 and Marquis Who’s Who Top Professionals 2023.
Mrs. Crochrell is distinguished for five years of dedication to Madison School District #12, where she serves as program director. In this role, she draws on her expertise, homed in both religious and secular organizations, in running programs that serve families in need. In addition to these official responsibilities, Mrs. Crochrell is also a dedicated volunteer, having served more than 30 homeless and misplaced students in her school district. Of her many professional and civic achievements, she is especially proud of helping to send children to Springfield to participate in a competition, an opportunity they would not have had otherwise. Some of her accomplishments through Quad City, she partners with Twigs summer lunch and the Pack a Sack for out of school youth. She served at the Golden Wings Academy as Executive Director and successfully opened 500 home day care centers and three state serviced day care facilities in California.
Adjacent to her work with the Madison School District #12, Mrs. Crochrell serves as administration manager and planner for Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, where she is also evangelist, trustee, and deaconess. Additionally, for more than 20 years, she has served as the volunteer executive director for Quiet City Community Development Center. Before venturing onto her vocational path, Mrs. Crochrell obtained an associate degree in business management from Ashworth College and completed coursework in early childcare, early childhood and teaching, and architecture and interior design. She holds a certification in food handling.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Mrs. Crochrell is a two-time recipient of the Martin Luther King Award. Other honors include the Excellent Service Award from Peacekeepers MLV, Customer Service of Excellence Award from Addis Home Health, and recognitions from Soup and Share, All Stars youth basketball, and the State of Illinois 2020 Census. She is active with the Eastern Star Bright Hope 86, sits on the board of the Joe Roberts Youth Club, CEO of Citizens for Change, Peacekeepers MLV Board Member, YWCA Former President of Eastern Illinois, Madison County26 Precinct Committee Person, Madison County Sergeant at Arms of the Democratic Party, SIUE and the Madison County Housing Authority Board Member.
The daughter of a preschool teacher, Mrs. Crochrell was born in Shreveport, LA and raised in California and today is married with two sons of her own. She attributes her success to putting God first and always treating others with kindness. In the coming years, she hopes to start a nonprofit organization to help young people and older adults with mental and physical struggles.
