Edwardsville Township is excited to partner with a dedicated group of community volunteers and the Edwardsville Community Foundation to complete much-needed restorations to the U.S. Navy A-7E Corsair II aircraft, which has been on display at Edwardsville Township Community Park for more than twenty (20) years. It preserves an important piece of Naval Aviation history in honor of the men and women who serve our country.
Tell us your story!
The Edwardsville Township recently signed a contract with the Flight Deck Veterans Group to restore the U.S. Navy A-7E Corsair II located at Edwardsville Township Community Park. Now that we are getting ready to complete the restoration project, we need your help!
We need you to tell us your story. What is your connection with our A-7 Corsair? What memories do you have to share of visiting the park and seeing the plane? We want to see any photos you have of our A-7 Corsair and we want to hear all of your stories! Not only do we want to hear memories of our plane, we also want to hear of any connection with A-7 Corsairs that community members may have had in their military service. Do you have any memories of other A-7 Corsairs during your military service? Did you manufacture or repair A-7 Corsairs? Did you assist with flight deck operations? Have you ever flown an A-7 Corsair? We hope to hear many different memories from our community on how everyone is connected to our A-7 Corsair.
Please leave your memories to share with us by clicking here and completing the form, we would love to hear from you. If you have any photos of our A-7 Corsair either at the park or when it was being delivered please share them with us by emailing them to township@edwardsvilletownship.com.

Edwardsville Community Foundation (ECF) is the charitable fund behind many community projects, including Mission Preservation. The ECF is a charitable organization that administers funds for local purposes and projects. The ECF accepts donations from private citizens, local businesses, and other organizations interested in serving the charitable needs of the area.
The community impact the ECF has made spans over a twenty year period. Some recent examples are the City of Edwardsville Better Place to Play, the Wildey Theater, the Fountain in City Park and the Rotary Playground in Township Park (Airplane Park). These projects, plus many more, were made possible by the funds management and donation advantages provided by the Edwardsville Community Foundation and its 501(c)(3) status.
