PUBLIC NOTICE
Mont Road Reconstruction – Temporary Road Closure
Dear Residents and Members of the Public:
Edwardsville Township is notifying the public that Mont Road will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, September 14, 2026, through Friday, November 20, 2026, for the Mont Road Reconstruction project.

CLOSURE PERIOD: SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 – NOVEMBER 20, 2026 |
The closure will extend from just east of the Mont Road intersection with Old Troy Road east approximately 1,900 feet to the Township’s eastern maintenance boundary.
Access to properties located within the construction limits will be maintained. Residents and visitors should expect construction activity, temporary access adjustments, and delays throughout the project. All other traffic should use alternate routes and avoid the work zone.
The work includes full-depth pavement reconstruction, new concrete pavement and concrete shoulders, drainage and ditch improvements, and replacement of existing crossroad culverts.
The closure dates are subject to adjustment due to weather or unforeseen construction conditions. Edwardsville Township appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while these improvements are completed.

Madison County offers a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Site for residents to safely dispose of items that should not be placed in regular trash. This service helps protect public health, the environment, and local waterways by ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials.
Residents are encouraged to review the attached Madison County flyer for accepted materials, hours of operation, and additional details. Please note that this program is operated by Madison County, and all guidelines and requirements are set by the County.

Edwardsville Township Road and Bridge to Oil & Chip Roads August 15,2025
Highway Commissioner Picarella plans to oil & chip the following roads in the Edwardsville Township August 15, 2025, (weather permitting).
He would like residents to be aware that they may experience some delays due to the upcoming road work. Signs will be posted near the roads affected to include: Oaklawn Road, Middlegate Lane, Pentecostal Road, Sand Road, Kay Drive, Bluff Road, and Edwardsville Township Park/Robert C. Stille Park.

WE WANT TO MAKE SURE RESIDENTS ARE AWARE OF UPCOMING ROAD WORK IN THEIR AREA AS THEY MAY EXPERIENCE SOME DELAYS. TENATIVILY OCTOBER 27, 2022, EDWARDSVILLE TOWNSHIP ALONG WITH KILLIAN KILLIAN CONSTRUCTION WILL START THE MILLING AND OVERLAYING PROGRAM OF AREAS AFFECTED BY THE ROAD WORK INCLUDE; DRDA LANE (starting at 5998 -ending 4510), STREET CAR RD, PRICKETT AVE, BOHM SCHOOL RD AND REDBUD LN.

Edwardsville Road and Bridge District will be oil and chipping the following roads July 20, 2021. Highway Commissioner Picarella wants to make sure residents are aware of upcoming road work in their area as they may experience some delays. Areas affected by the road work include Mont Road, Oaklawn Road, Middlegate Lane and Sand Road. Thank you!
