Trustee – Daniel Rees
Dan Rees Is a U.S, Air Force veteran where he served as an aircraft mechanic on RC-135 reconnaissance planes during the Cold War. After completing his military service, he went to work for The Boeing Company for 40 years before retiring in 2024. He spent the last 10 years of his Boeing career as a leader in the Technical Training Department. This department provided specialized advanced training to aircraft mechanics. The training department also partnered with the St. Louis Community College–Center for Workforce Innovation to recruit people for the Boeing pre-employment training program. This free program trained over 1,400 students to gain employment at Boeing. Many other students received employment with Boeing suppliers.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. He has been involved with youth adaptive sports for several years, and he served as an assistant coach for the St. Louis DASA Rolling Rams Wheelchair Basketball team for the past two years. They won the National NIT Championship two years in a row.
Dan and his wife Lisa enjoy going to art shows and farmers markets together. When they visited the Goshen Market, they both fell in love with Edwardsville and decided to move here from Missouri. They both love Edwardsville Township and were eager to get involved with the community. Dan also enjoys motorcycles and is currently learning to play guitar. Lisa enjoys gardening and painting. They have four adult kids and five grandchildren.
